Abby Wamback
In 2018, Abby Wambach, the iconic soccer player and advocate for gender equality, delivered an empowering commencement address at Barnard College. Wambach,known for her athletic achievements and her commitment to social justice, shared her insights on leadership, perseverance, and the importance of using one’s platform to create change. She advise graduates to break free from the constraints of perfection, embrace failure as a stepping stone to success, and to champion gender equity and inclusion.
